Line Dancers Take On “Too Much Blood in
My Alcohol Level” Line Dancers from Florida to Singapore have embraced the
fiery, honky tonk song, “Too Much Blood In My Alcohol Level.” Co-written by
Marc-Alan Barnette and Wood Newton, this modern day drinking song is featured on
David Ball’s recently released “Freewheeler” CD.
Christopher Petre, award-winning line dance choreographer since 1999, recently took first
place honors at the February 2005 Line Dance Showdown in Danvers, Massachusetts
for his choreography to this up-tempo song.
“The most important reason I choreographed a dance to ‘Too Much Blood
in My Alcohol Level’ is that the music is phrased perfectly for dancing.” “Line dances are typically 32 count (or other) patterns which are repeated. Regardless of the count, the song must be consistent. Most country music is badly phrased for line dancing.” When Christopher is on the dance floor, he can always hear people singing along…even quoting “bring that bottle to the table,” when drinks are ordered.“It’s great to see this song’s popularity. The music
and lyrics are dynamic and fun…puts a smile on people’s faces,” says
Marc-Alan Barnette. “Having Christopher select it and win first place at the
2005 Line Dance Showdown is incredible. I look forward to everyone singing and
dancing along”! Watch a clip of the line dance video! For More Information, Contact:
